SCVeamer version 1.5 — English edition

Local MP4 videos and HTTPS web pages can now be included in slides. Section dividers use the new default design, and previous/next controls stay in fixed positions when slides change at the same window size. No video files or video demonstration slides are included in this kit.

Open the English sample and start editing

The kit includes Sample slides, Template v2 and a New talk starter. On first launch it automatically creates an editable sample copy. No separate lecture ZIP or folder selection is required.

Version 1.5 — English edition

The full sample, editor, slide controls, templates, example catalog and instructions are in English. The 47-slide sample runs for 135 planned minutes, 14:55–17:10, with no speaker notes. Its original 46 lecture slides, including the boundary Levi form and holomorphic extension, are retained. The final mathematical question compares strongly 1-complete / strongly 1-convex and weakly 1-complete spaces. A zero-minute slide showing the English project website follows it.

Before using the download

SCVeamer is prototype software for research and education that runs on your own computer. Please consult the validation records included with this release for the environments and scope of testing, as well as matters that remain untested. We do not guarantee that it will work in every environment, be suitable for a particular purpose, or be free of errors, defects, or security issues.

Initial setup downloads the required libraries from the internet and creates a dedicated Python environment. Conversion generates or updates HTML, PDF, and other output files at the specified destinations. Back up important source documents and existing output files, and first try the software with the samples or copies of your documents. Use TeX sources, PDFs, and project settings that you created yourself or obtained from a trusted source.

Before using the results in a talk or class, check the generated files and verify their appearance and operation in the environment you will use.

First-time setup

  1. Extract the whole ZIP into a separate folder.
  2. Use Python 3.11 or later with Tkinter. A LuaLaTeX/Beamer installation is needed for building from TeX; conversion from an existing PDF does not require TeX.
  3. Run py scveamer.py in the kit folder, or double-click START_WINDOWS.cmd.
  4. Click First-time setup (install libraries) if the PDF libraries are not ready. This downloads pypdf 6.10.0, pypdfium2 5.14.0 and Pillow 12.3.0 into the kit's local environment.
  5. Click Check environment. If necessary, choose the folder containing lualatex.exe.
  6. Choose Edit source, edit and save talk.tex in your usual editor, then choose Build HTML from TeX.
  7. After a successful build, choose Open HTML.
py scveamer.py

Use python scveamer.py where that is your Python command. On the next launch, the same command automatically reuses the kit's prepared environment. Python and TeX themselves are not included or installed by the setup button.

Your working files

The Working folder field shows the actual editing location, normally workspace/day1/. Use the selector to switch bundled projects, Create a new project for a fresh starter, or Open my project folder for an existing source. English-edition settings are separate from the Japanese edition.

Insert a fixed interactive example

\exploreframe[lang=en]{sh}{std-b03}{Explore a harmonic saddle}

Place it between ordinary Beamer frames. The arguments select a viewer, an example ID and your slide title. The manual includes a complete, searchable table of IDs and formulas.

Present and share

Open the generated index.html in a browser. The bundled examples contain no videos and can each be shared as one HTML file. Typeset pages and included interactive figures work offline; the website slide needs internet access. Viewing needs no Python, TeX or local server. If you use your own MP4 files, share the HTML together with its adjacent video folder, such as index_media/. Use arrows or Space to advance; press F2 after interacting with a figure to return to slide controls.
