SCVeamer version 1.4 prototype: publication and reported-use supplement
Statement dated 24 October 2026

1. Scope
--------
The pypdf + pypdfium2/PDFium + Pillow prototype supplied on 24 October 2026 has
been prepared for publication by revising its documentation. It remains a
version 1.4 prototype; the application build_id is still 1.4-prototype-20261024.
This documentation revision does not change the program, backend or lectures.

2. Report of practical use on Windows 11
--------------------------------------
On 24 October 2026, principal investigator Takayuki Koike reported that he had
personally tried various operations in the supplied 1.4 prototype on his
Windows 11 computer and had not noticed particular problems in the operations
he tried.

Windows 11 was the OS on which he personally tried it. The language edition,
OS build, Python/TeX/browser versions, hardware and per-operation results were
not recorded comprehensively. This report is not expanded into a claim that
both editions were separately verified on Windows, or that fresh setup, every
GUI function and the full TeX workflow were individually tested end to end.
It also does not establish Mac validation, executable build/run validation or
a comprehensive security audit.

3. Relation to the original technical records
--------------------------------------------
VALIDATION_1_4.txt: generation/difference checks and 17 tests per edition when
the versioned prototype was prepared.
VALIDATION_PDFIUM.txt and validation/: backend comparisons, browser checks and
measurements.
VALIDATION.txt and VALIDATION_1_2.txt: historical PyMuPDF-version records.
The original technical measurements and this personal-use report have different
sources and scopes. No new regression-suite or browser execution is claimed
for the publication-documentation revision.

4. Documentation prepared for publication
----------------------------------------
- Precautions, development/review scope, warranty and support explanation.
- Background, acknowledgement of the initial PyMuPDF implementation, and the
  reasons for changing the backend.
- The intention to adopt MIT after confirming rights and scope with the
relevant parties, without making the formal grant now.
- A voluntary acknowledgement request, distinguished from third-party terms.
- The reported Windows 11 use and links to the appropriate validation records.
- Corrections to outdated validation/dependency links and baseline wording.

5. Content retained from the supplied 1.4 prototype
--------------------------------------------------
Application code, launchers, pinned requirements, build configuration, tests,
games, player, lecture sources, TeX styles, input PDFs, generated HTML/handout
PDFs, figures, original measurements under validation/, and third-party license
texts are byte-identical to the supplied prototype.
No new MIT grant, inferred rights-holder declaration, organizational approval or
legal-clearance claim has been added. Library binaries and executables remain
excluded.

PACKAGE_MANIFEST.json records every distributed file except itself, with its
size and SHA-256, for verification of the publication folder.
